Bachman Foundation Grant

Big news for students at E.K. Baker—McMinn County Schools has received a $5,000 grant from the Bachman Foundation to fund a new adaptive swing, giving students with disabilities the chance to play alongside their peers, safely and fully.

The grant came together thanks to the work of E.K. Baker Principal Cody Casteel and Special Education Supervisor Patti Rogers. The award was presented at a ceremony on July 13 at the Bachman Foundation.

It’s a partnership that makes a lot of sense: the Foundation has long championed students with learning differences and special needs, and this grant means outdoor play—swinging, climbing, just being a kid at recess—becomes something every student can share, regardless of ability. A huge thank you to the Bachman Foundation for their generosity and their continued investment in McMinn County Schools.
