Thank you to Michigan's Milk Means More Dairy Industry for the opportunity for Calhoun PreK to take part in a virtual field trip to Brock Dairy Farm in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Farmer Anne discussed how she takes care of the cows, calves, land, and community. Students saw where the calves and cows live and where the cows are milked.

While studying Esperanza Rising, Calhoun 5th graders got to taste vanilla and almond flan. Many of us now understand why this was the main character's favorite dessert.

Congratulations to Mark Monroe, grand prize winner from our August Family Night. Mark received 4 tickets to Creative Discovery Museum! 4 other students received gift certificates to Book Fair: Eden Mizell, James Fugate, Trinity McDade, Destiny McDade

Yesterday was International Dot Day in honor of Peter H Reynolds's book, The Dot. This wonderful picture book encourages children to try new or challenging things, to explore their creativity, and to have confidence in their abilities. Some of our classes started with a mark to see where it would take them. Be sure to mark November 27th on your calendar for Calhoun's Art Show!
